200G QSFP56 FR4: Data Center Medium Distance Transmission Scheme

HOME > News > 200G QSFP56 FR4: Data Center Medium Distance Transmission Scheme

With the rapid development of applications such as big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and 5G Internet of Things, the internal traffic of data centers is gradually increasing, and users’ demand for networks is also growing accordingly, thus promoting the development of optical modules. Currently, 200G is a highly cost-effective solution. The 200G QSFP56 optical module is designed specifically for 200G Ethernet and has four transmission and reception channels, each with a transmission rate of up to 50G. It can transmit more data on existing fiber optics and is more suitable for application in ultra large scale data center networks.

Product Feature

The 200G QSFP56 FR4 is a full duplex transceiver module that uses QSFP56 hot swappable packaging, with a maximum transmission rate of 53.125Gbps per channel. It adopts dual LC optical ports and has a power consumption of less than 7W. It complies with QSFP56 MSA and IEEE 802.3bs 200GBASE-FR4 Ethernet transmission protocol, and is also compatible with InfiniBand HDR transmission protocol.

Operating Principle

The 200G QSFP56 FR4 optical module is based on a four channel 53Gb/s PAM4 technology solution, with an aggregated data rate of 212.5Gb/s. The transceiver module integrates four center wavelengths of 1271nm, 1291nm, 1311nm, and 1331nm, which are then multiplexed into one optical data stream using wavelength division multiplexing technology. The receiving end uses an optical wavelength division multiplexer for demultiplexing into four optical data streams.

Application

The 200G QSFP56 FR4 optical transceiver module is widely used for medium distance interconnection between internal equipment in data centers. With FEC enabled, the transmission distance can reach up to 2km through dual core single-mode fiber (SMF), effectively reducing customers’ fiber cabling costs.
