With the widespread deployment of data centers, the demand for 400G solutions is increasing. The rapid increase in the number of network links will promote the data center space of traditional fiber optic cabling, which is difficult to manage. The application of MPO fiber optic connectors/jumpers is precisely based on this demand, which can accommodate high-density and high-efficiency fiber optic cable connections for high-speed and high-capacity optical communication systems, meeting the 400G high-speed transmission requirements.
MPO (MultiplaushOn) is a type of multi-core fiber optic connector that typically arranges 12 fiber optic cables in a column, supporting one or more columns of fibers in the same MPO connector. It is divided into one column (12 cores) and multiple columns (24 cores or more) based on the number of cores arranged in the connector. The size of MPO connectors is the same as SC connectors, but the density has increased several times, greatly saving the space occupied by line ports and cables, and enabling higher density wiring within a certain space. The great flexibility and scalability make wiring configuration simpler, and can adapt to the needs of future network upgrades, expansions, and changes. Currently, it is widely used in dry fiber communication networks, high-density data center transmission systems, Cable TV networks, etc. Its application in active cable components is also increasing.
