Optical modules refer to small packaged optical modules that can be hot swapped, which are used on device ports and can be hot swapped during operation. They are mainly used to convert electrical signals in devices (generally referring to switch or router devices) into optical signals. So how should the optical module be used?

Usage of optical modules
1. Antistatic measures
Whether indoors or outdoors, anti-static measures must be taken when using the light module, and it is necessary to ensure that hands come into contact with the light module when wearing anti-static gloves or anti-static bracelets.
2. Retrieval and placement operation
It is strictly prohibited to touch the golden fingers of the optical module when taking it out, and it must be handled gently to prevent it from being compressed and bumped. If the optical module is accidentally bumped during taking out, it is not recommended to use it again.
3. Insertion and removal methods
When installing the optical module, it is first necessary to forcefully insert it to the bottom, and then feel a slight vibration or hear a “snap” sound, indicating that the optical module card is locked in place. When inserting the optical module, close the handle ring; After inserting, unplug the optical module again to check if it is installed properly. If it cannot be unplugged, it indicates that it has been inserted to the bottom.
When disassembling the optical module, it is necessary to first unplug the fiber optic jumper, then pull the handle to about 90 degrees from the optical port, and then slowly remove the optical module. It is prohibited to forcefully pull or pull the optical module out.
