What is 400G QSFP-DD DAC cable?

With the rapid rise of the Internet of Things, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and big data applications, the data transmission rates of servers, routers, switches, and data storage devices are also constantly increasing. Data centers will also face challenges of high bandwidth, high reliability, and low latency, especially with higher requirements for data transmission up to 400G.

To achieve high data transmission, it requires cost-effective, stable and reliable data transmission cables and connectors. At the same time, DAC high-speed cables have advantages such as high simplicity, flexibility, and low power consumption, making them a cost-effective solution for achieving short distance high-speed transmission in data centers.

Among various types of DAC cables, compared to the SFP series (including SFP+, SFP28, SFP56), the QSFP series (including QSFP+, QSFP28, QSFP56, QSFP-DD) has a 4-channel data transmission and larger data capacity, ranging from 40G to 400G. QSFP-DD with 400G is very suitable for data center applications such as servers, routers, switches, and data storage for current ultra-high data transmission.

Although the data rate of the SFP series is relatively low, due to the more adoption of LEONIzell ® Dielectric technology has good bending performance when wiring indoors, and the insertion loss is 10% lower than the industry average.

The 400G QSFP-DD DAC has a data rate of up to 425Gbps, adopts 8-way 53Gb/s PAM4 modulation, and meets the requirements of 400G Ethernet and InfiniBand EDR. Provide various wire gauges from 28AWG to 30AWG. It is 0.5 to 2.5 meters long and has the advantages of low insertion loss and low crosstalk.

It is mainly used in switches, servers and routers, data center networks, storage area networks, storage area networks, high-performance computing, telecommunications and wireless infrastructure, medical diagnosis and networking testing and measurement equipment.

There are three classifications for 400G DAC:

1, 400G QSFP-DD to QSFP-DD DAC

2, 400G QSFP-DD to 2*200G QSFP56 DAC

3, 400G QSFP DD to 4*QSFP56 DAC

4, 400G QSFP-DD to 8*50G SFP56 DAC
