Active Optical Cables (AOC) are composed of integrated optical devices, with transceivers at both ends providing photoelectric conversion and optical transmission function. During the communication process, active optical cables need to use external energy to convert electrical signals into optical signals or optical signals into electrical signals.

AOC active optical cable is an efficient integrated cable component designed for short distance multi-channel data communication and interconnection applications, with communication distances ranging from 1 to 100 meters. It is suitable for supercomputers and places based on InfiniBand standards such as SDR, DDR, and QDR. Moreover, AOC active optical cables have many advantages compared to interconnected copper cables, such as lower transmission power on system links, a weight of only one quarter of that of directly connected copper cables, and a volume slightly half that of copper cables. They also have better air flow and heat dissipation in computer room cabling systems. The bending radius of optical cables is smaller than that of copper cables, the transmission distance is longer, and the error rate of product transmission performance is also better.
